I thought this was a very well thought out and researched book. The peroid set in early 1940's was spot on. I hope Ms Cobb will wright another novel.
Picked this up in a local store mainly because it was written by a local lady and was set in rural Georgia. I really enjoyed it! I love to read novels set in rural Georgia. Got interested in the characters from the beginning and want Ms. Cobb to write another novel. She left me hanging on at the end to see how the 'wronged' lady will get even with the 'cad' boyfriend. Very good, tasteful, and southern. Good book for the beach.
This book carried me back to growing up in the South! Through the characters and their everyday life, I relived my youth as I read.
How refreshing to read a book without having to wade through filthy language and explicit sex scenes to enjoy a good story. I wish more authors would take note and bring back the joy of reading a good book without the garbage!
Well,there are several "firsts" for me here. The first "first" review and the first time I know, or at least have met an author. Until today when I an email announcing her book signing, I did not know Mrs. Cobb had written a book.
I looked at the book online and read the sample. I have to truthfully say that I have not finished the book. So far it is a splendidly entertaining book. I love reading about the wonderful women of the rural south who came before me. Bee seems natural,honest and unassuming. I love the insights into her thoughts which are probably exactly what women think,but never say. These thoughts are entertaining, but not silly or demeaning to southern women. I felt I could review what I had read because I cant wait to read the rest.I am visiting near where Mrs. Cobb lives and I am going to The Bookworm in Louisville tomorrow to buy the book. I want the real book edition. I only hope I can wait and not buy the kindle edition tonight!
Very easy reading. Funny story with characters that you can relate to and with a good plot that will keep you reading on to the end.
This book was excellent!!!! Well written well described! Very country life styles it was so good I could not put it down.
Thoroughly enjoy the mystery and the setting. It brought back pleasant memories of living in rural Georgia. Looking forward to reading the next one.
